Employee Goal Setting
Prepare
Open Your Annual Goal Setting Task
- Log in to with your Andrew ID and Password.
- Open My Tasks from the top right corner of the screen.
- Select the Goal Setting task. The Goal Setting item displays.
- In the Goal Setting task, click Get Started to begin.
Review Your Goals
- Some goals may already appear in the Goals section. For example, if your manager sets goals and cascades them to you, they will be displayed here.
- Existing goals from previous goal setting may or may not be appropriate moving forward. They can be deleted, edited or maintained as applicable. To unarchive a goal, review Unarchiving Prior Goals.
Note: Cascaded goals are goals set by your supervisor or other 麻豆村 leadership to ensure alignment between individual and team/organizational goals.
Unarchive Prior Goals
Step 1 – Unarchive
- From your homepage, click your Profile in the top right.
- Click View Profile.
- Click the Performance tab.
- Click the Goals tab.
- Click Archive or Unarchive Goals.
- From the Archived section, select the goals you would like to unarchive.
- Click OK.
Note: Do not edit the goal if it will be included in your Annual Goal Setting. You will be able to edit through your Annual Goal Setting task.
Step 2 – Add Unarchived Goals to your Annual Goal Setting task
- From your homepage, open the Annual Goal Setting task in Awaiting Your Action and click Get Started. Alternatively, open the task from the My Tasks inbox in the top-right.
- In the Goals section, to add an archived goal, click Add.
- Click Add Existing > All Valid Goals for Selection, then select the unarchived goal.
- Edit the goal as needed.
Set and Update
Add a New Goal
- To add a new goal to your Annual Goal Setting task, click Add.
- After clicking Add, a blank goal form is now available.
- Note: Some existing goals may not appear in your goals (e.g., goals approved after the launch of goal setting, archived, etc.). To add any existing goals, review Unarchiving a Prior Goal for detailed instructions.
- Enter a name for the new goal in the Goal field. Enter a description of the goal in the Description field.
- Note: The name of the goal should be high-level, while the description should use key details and follow the S.M.A.R.T. goal format.
- Click on the Category dropdown and select a category. Note: You can select all that apply.
- Division goals support the success of the division/department.
- Organization goals are tied to 麻豆村's mission and vision statements; defined by the strategic plan.
- Professional Development goals focus on the attainment of skills and knowledge; they can be used to address areas in need of improvement, new responsibilities or future career goals.
- Team goals are specific to a team project, a unique task or an initiative.
- Enter a due date in the Due Date field. Select a status from the Status field.
- Due Date: Due dates are useful to track progress.
- Status: Status is a required field. Most goals entered during goal setting are either not started or are in progress. N/A or complete may apply when adding a goal for record-keeping purposes.
- Click the "+" under the Milestones section to add a milestone to this goal.
- Milestones are optional: A milestone marks a significant step in your progress toward achieving the goal and can be useful for keeping on track to meet the due date.
- Enter a name in the Name field, a due date in the Due Date field and the status of the milestone in the Status field. You can save the goal by clicking on the checkmark in the upper-right corner of the goal.
- To add another goal, click Add at the bottom of the goal. When finished adding goals, select Next to review your goals before submitting them to your supervisor for approval.
- The Review and Submit screen displays. This is your opportunity to scroll through your goals and confirm the content. To make additions or corrections, click the Goals radio button to return to the previous screen.
- You can Save for Later to complete your goals at a later time or click Submit when ready to submit your goals.
Add an Existing Goal

- To search for existing goals, select Add Existing Goal, then filter your search by clicking on one of the filters in the dropdown menu.
- Select the goal you would like to add.
Modify Your Goals
- To delete an existing goal, click Remove below the goal.
- To edit the goal, simply click on the Description and modify the text in the editor.
- To come back later and save your progress, click Save.
Submit
Steps After Submitting Your Goals
- Your supervisor will review your goals and either approve them or send them back to you for revision.
- You will be notified when your goals have been approved.
- If your goals are sent back:
- You will receive a task in your Workday inbox.
- You can revise your goals through the inbox task.
- Revision guidance is included in the notification and the task.
- You will not see changes to your submitted goals until they have been approved by your supervisor.
- If you want to make changes after submission, your supervisor must send them back to you for revision.
Manage
Manage Your Goals Outside the Annual Process
- Log in to .
- Click your Profile in the top right.
- Click View Profile.
- Click the Performance tab.
- Click the Goals tab.
- From the Goals tab, use the Edit Goal, Create Goal and Archive or Unarchive Goals buttons to make any changes.
