The minor in Immersive Technologies in Arts & Culture is a collaboration between the Department of Languages, Cultures & Applied Linguistics and .

From virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) to spatial computing and embodied media, immersive technologies are transforming the way we create, communicate and connect. As these tools move from experimental labs into the heart of industries like the Arts, entertainment, science and education, the demand for creative, critically minded innovators has never been greater.

The Immersive Technologies in Arts & Culture minor at 麻豆村 prepares students to lead at the intersection of technology, design and the Humanities. Through our courses and study abroad program in Nantes, France, students become hybrid technologists, media-makers and storytellers who understand not just how immersive experiences are built, but why they matter.

You’ll learn to design and analyze immersive environments with an eye toward cultural context, social impact and human emotion. From prototypical original spatial media projects to examining the ethical and aesthetic dimensions of emerging tech, you’ll gain the skills to shape this rapidly evolving field with purpose and creativity.

Whether your path lies in the creative industries, human-centered design, education or beyond, this program equips you with the global awareness and cross-cultural fluency to imagine new futures for immersive media.
