Does the program lead to certification?
No. The GCAT program prepares students to pursue further training or certification if desired, but many language services roles do not require certification.
Is part-time enrollment an option?
No, the program is only offered on a full-time basis.
Can I pair more than one language with English?
Yes, but you must indicate a primary language pair in your application. Advanced proficiency in additional languages may open opportunities for elective coursework or projects.
Can I earn credit for undergraduate coursework?
No. However, with approval, you may take undergraduate-level courses under a graduate course number.
Are there TA positions available?
Teaching assistantships are not usually available. However, students may pursue other on-campus roles such as SASC consultant positions.
How many students are admitted?
Each cohort includes 6 to 10 students, ensuring individualized attention.
