For over two decades, Jon Ritzdorf has dedicated himself to educating and uplifting the next generation of localization professionals while maintaining a full-time career in the language industry. Since beginning his teaching in 2003, Jon has served as an adjunct professor at prestigious institutions including the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS), the University of Maryland, the University of Chicago, and New York University (NYU). In recognition of his impact in the classroom, he received a “Teaching Excellence” award from NYU in 2012. Through coursework on topics ranging from translation technology, software & website localization, the practical use of AI in localization management and the business workings of the translation industry, Jon has educated over a thousand students, striving to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical, real-world application.
Complementing his academic tenure Jon has worked full-time for over 25 years in the language industry. Jon’s journey began as a Chinese to English translator before moving into localization engineering and ultimately solutions development, where he has remained for over a decade. As a former Senior Solutions Architect at Moravia, he consulted on globalization strategies for a diverse client base ranging from Fortune 100 giants to high-growth start-ups. Currently, Jon serves as the Senior Manager of Globalization Content Infrastructure at Procore Technologies, where he leads the technical strategy for the company's global expansion.
