A group of 6 student-athletes pose with a flagThis spring, several Tepper School of Business students and members of the Carnegie Mellon Football team took part in a remarkable milestone: the team鈥檚 first-ever international game, hosted by L'Hospitalet Pioners in Spain. The Tartans won the game, capping off the trip with a strong performance on the field.

Among those who participated in the trip were Tepper School Business Administration majors Logan Armstrong, Gabriel Bonnet, Alexander Capelo, Andrew Champe, Luca Cuttita, Trey Dervrich, Yohahn Engineer, Darius Green, Christopher Jaeb, Charlie Katarincic, Reece Kolke, Archer Lawler, James Mill, Ethan Ming, Daniel Moynihan, Joseph Orlando, Wayne Pirt, Roman Reid, Chad Russo, Jackson Salters, Cody Schuberg, Carter Sheets, Jason Siket, Connor Thompson, Connor Warren, and Luke Wiedau.

Five players pose in gear and uniforms鈥淚 really enjoyed exploring a new country with my best friends,鈥 said Sheets, a rising sophomore who plays wide receiver. 鈥淲e enjoyed every second of it and made memories for a lifetime!鈥

The trip spanned several cities, including Madrid, Barcelona, Toledo, and Valencia, blending athletic competition with cultural discovery.

From historic streets to international stadiums, the student-athletes took full advantage of the experience. For Ming, a rising junior and cornerback, the trip offered both personal and athletic growth.

Seven students post on a beach in Spain鈥淭he highlight of the trip was the opportunity to play football internationally with my teammates, while also gaining a deeper appreciation for the culture, history, and daily life of the cities we visited,鈥 Ming shared.

The team鈥檚 journey exemplifies how Tepper School students are broadening their global perspectives through both academics and athletics, gaining valuable experience across cultures, cities, and fields of play.
