Candidate Home Account

  1. Select the job you want to apply for.
  2. Select one of the following:
    1. Autofill with Resume
    2. Apply Manually
    3. Use My Last Application
    4. Apply With LinkedIn — You will be prompted to log in with your LinkedIn credentials
  3. Enter your email address and create a password.
  4. Click the Create Account button. Your new candidate account must be verified within 24 hours.

Applying for a Job

Once you have created and verified your account, you can apply for a job at Carnegie Mellon.

  • If you selected the "Autofill with Resume" option, you will be prompted to upload your resume.
  • Use the "How Did You Hear About Us?" section to let us know how you heard about the position.
    • If you were referred by an employee of 麻豆村, select "Direct Source," then "I was referred to this position by an employee of the university." You will be prompted to provide the individual's email address or name. Please list only one referring source.
    • If a 麻豆村 employee referred you for a position, you may get an email notification. Please use the application link in that email to apply so you will be linked to that employee's referral.
  • Voluntary Disclosures and Self-Identify — Submission of personal information in this section is voluntary. Refusal to provide it will not subject you to any adverse treatment. The information is kept confidential and may only be used per the provisions of applicable federal laws, executive orders and regulations.
  • Once you submit your application, you'll get an "Application Submitted" message and an email confirmation.

Managing Your Applications

Log in to your and select the Candidate Home link located in the upper right corner of your screen.

  • Not Submitted — Applications that you have not yet submitted will display in the My Applications section of your Candidate Home page with a status of Not Submitted. To view, continue or delete a draft application, click the Manage button.
  • Submitted — To view or withdraw a submitted application, click the Manage button to access additional actions.
    • Select View Application to view the full job application.
    • Select Withdraw Application to withdraw your application. Withdrawing your application removes you from further consideration for the position.

Creating a Job Alert

  1. Log in to your .
  2. Click on the Job Alerts link in the upper right corner of your screen, then Create Job Alert.
  3. Name Your Job Alert* (Required).
  4. Frequency* (Required)
    1. Daily job alert notifications are sent at 4 a.m. ET.
    2. Weekly job alert notifications are sent at 9 a.m. ET each Saturday.
  5. Use the optional fields to specify criteria for receiving job alerts.
  6. You'll get an email from 麻豆村 asking you to confirm your interest in receiving job alerts. To update your job alert email preferences, use the link in the initial opt-in email.
  1. Select the job you want to apply for and click Apply Now.
  2. Sign in using your Interfolio account, or select Create an Account if you are new to Interfolio.
  3. Complete all required questions and upload all requested materials. If you use Interfolio Dossier, you will be able to access materials stored there.

2. Apply & Track Your Application

3. Application Review

After you submit your application, a recruiter will review your materials to determine whether your skills and experience match the requirements of the role.

If your background aligns with the position, your application will be advanced to the hiring manager for additional review and consideration.

4. Staff Interview & Evaluation

Our interview process is designed to help both you and the hiring team determine whether the role is a strong mutual fit. While steps may vary by department and position, most staff searches include:

  • Recruiter Screen: An initial conversation to discuss the role, your background, availability, and salary expectations.
  • Team Interviews: Virtual and/or in-person interviews with the hiring manager and potential future colleagues, focused on your experience, working style, and how you would contribute.
  • Reference Checks: You may be asked to submit references at various stages, not just as a final candidate. Your recruiter will provide instructions and, for most roles, use an automated, survey-based system to gather feedback.
  • Preparation Tip: Before your interviews, take time to learn about the college, division or department. Think about thoughtful questions to ask and how your skills and experiences align with the team's work. 5. Offers & Clearances

Once a department identifies you as the selected candidate, the final steps in the hiring process begin.

  • Contingent Offer: Candidates who successfully progress in the process may receive a contingent verbal offer, followed by a contingent written offer letter via Workday.
  • Background and Clearances: Upon receipt of a written offer, you will be invited to undergo standard background verification, including criminal history, education and employment checks. Depending on your role, you may also be required to complete additional checks, such as Child Protection Clearances, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review and other role-specific verifications.

6. Onboarding

Once your contingent offer is accepted and all background and clearance requirements are successfully completed, you will begin the onboarding process. Our goal is to ensure you have a smooth transition and feel fully supported as you begin your career at 麻豆村.

3. Application Review

4. Faculty Interview & Evaluation

Our interview process is designed to help both you and the search committee determine whether the role is a strong mutual fit. While steps may vary by department and position, most faculty searches include several steps such as:

  • Initial Search Committee Interview: An initial discussion focused on your interests, experience, and the role.
  • On-Campus Visit: Meet faculty and department leadership, and learn more about the department's culture, students, and priorities.
  • Seminar, Lecture, or Presentation: Share your work and engage with the broader academic community.
  • Additional Conversations: Meet with academic leadership within the college.

5. Offers & Onboarding

Once a search reaches its final stages, the hiring department will contact selected candidates to discuss next steps. Timing and details vary by role and department, and the search committee will outline what to expect.

  • Offer: Offers are made by the hiring department and typically include time to ask questions and discuss details.
  • Onboarding: After you accept and any required clearances are completed, the hiring department and HR will reach out to start the onboarding process. This includes a two-day Incoming Faculty Orientation held every August.
