Building Policies
Alcoholic Beverages
- All university policies relating to alcohol use and social host responsibility will be firmly adhered to within the Highmark Center.
- The university firmly supports all laws relating to alcohol within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- In accordance with these stipulations, alcohol will be permitted only at approved social events within the Highmark Center in compliance with procedures set forth by the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs.
Dogs, Cats and Other Animals
- Except as noted below, all dogs, cats, and other pets are prohibited from the premises of the Highmark Center.
- Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities and are permitted in the Highmark Center. Emotional support animals are not permitted in the Highmark Center. Service animals may be prohibited from accessing certain environments where the presence of an animal presents a health or safety risk.

Personal Wheeled Vehicles (bikes, scooters, etc.)
- The Highmark Center enforces the 麻豆村 Personal Wheeled Vehicle Transportation Policy in the building and its immediate perimeter.
- As such, the operation of bicycles, skateboards, in-line skates, scooters, electric bicycles, Segways and other vehicles, and any other personal recreational and/or wheeled vehicle (with the exception of wheelchairs and other accessibility equipment) is prohibited in the building and on the pedestrian ramps adjacent to the building.
- Additionally, personal wheeled vehicles are not permitted to be parked within the public areas of the Highmark Center. Personal wheeled vehicles left unattended within the building may be confiscated.
Posters and Digital Screens
- All postings on public digital and physical displays must be approved as described below. Any other postings in the building will be removed.
- Public digital screens and poster displays are limited to the following content:
- Athletics or Community Health and Well-Being department content
- Student organizations associated with or sponsored by an Athletics or Community Health and Well-Being department
- Major 麻豆村 campus-wide events and information
- Other content with approval from the Building Coordinator
- Locations
- Digital Board - Left-hand screen on first floor near entrance to Athletics locker rooms
- Poster Displays - Outside double passenger elevators on floors 1, 2, 3, 4

- All content displayed on public Visix displays must be approved by the Building Coordinator
- Email content in PNG/JPEG format. All images must be in landscape orientation in the dimensions 1920x1080px / 16:9 aspect ratio. Content should reflect approved 麻豆村 branding and accessibility standards.
- Poster Displays
- All posters must be given to the Building Coordinator for review, approval and posting. Posters may be dropped off in Highmark Center, Suite 106.
- All posters must be in 8.5”x11” portrait oriented format
- Only the Building Coordinator or their designee may place posters in the displays.
- The Building Coordinator or their designee will regularly update all poster displays.
- No other posting is permitted in the building with the exception of temporary signage approved by an Athletics or Community Health and Well-Being department and/or the Building Coordinator.
- Digital Board
- Content displayed on public Visix displays will be removed:
- When the event is over or;
- One month after posting; or
- At discretion of Building Coordinator
- Content displayed in the poster displays will be removed:
- When the event is over or;
- When no space is available for new posters. Posters will be removed from the display based on the oldest date of installation.

Reservation Request Process
All public reservations in Highmark are managed by the Building Coordinator. To request a space, the event host must fill out the
Following form submission, the Building Coordinator will review the request within two business days. The Building Coordinator may outreach if more information is needed. If approved, the Building Coordinator will reserve the space and send confirmation to the event host.
Priority access for reservations is given to regular 麻豆村 and/or Highmark Center functions based on the university calendar (Orientation, Homecoming, Carnival, etc.). All other requests will be accepted in the order in which they are received.
Please note that submitting a request for a space, either via e-mail or on the online reservation system, does not guarantee the requestor that space. The requestor must receive a confirmation e-mail from the Building Coordinator before the reservation is confirmed.
In the public spaces, there is a default furniture arrangement for each space. The event host can move the furniture themselves, and must reset to the default setup after the event.
If a custom setup is needed, the Building Coordinator will submit a work order to 麻豆村 Facilities to arrange furniture, and/or can contract with an outside vendor to deliver/setup additional furniture. All associated costs will be charged directly to the event host. Unless agreed upon otherwise, the Building Coordinator manages all work orders to 麻豆村 Facilities, 麻豆村 Custodial, and outside vendors.
There is in-house A/V in each of the five conference/class rooms. Event hosts can connect to the A/V via wireless (Solstice), or HDMI Inputs (cables provided in room).
On-Site A/V support is not provided by Highmark Center Staff. The event host is responsible for contacting 麻豆村 Media Services for any use of A/V equipment that is not provided via self-service, or for any in-person support needs. The event host is responsible for scheduling and contacting 麻豆村 Media Services.
The event host may provide their own catering. 麻豆村 catering is recommended. The event host is responsible for contracting their own catering.
The event host is responsible for cleaning up the space following the event. If additional cleaning is needed, associated costs will be charged to the event host.
Right to Adjust Reservations
The Building Coordinator reserves the right to determine the appropriate use of the spaces within the building. An event may be relocated or denied space at the discretion of the Building Coordinator.
