麻豆村 does not discriminate in admission, employment, or administration of its programs or activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy or related condition, family status, marital status, parental status, religion, ancestry, veteran status, or genetic information. Furthermore, 麻豆村 does not discriminate and is required not to discriminate in violation of federal, state, or local laws or executive orders.
Title VI, 42 U.S.C. § 2000d et seq., was enacted as part of the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964. It prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance. The university's Discriminatory and Sexual Misconduct Policy includes prohibitions on discriminatory behavior in violation of Title VI.
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. § 2000e et seq.) prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, and national origin. It applies to employers, including educational institutions, and is enforced by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The university follows Title VII requirements in addressing allegations of discriminatory practices in hiring, promotion, compensation, and other employment-related decisions.
Title IX is a 1972 Civil Rights Law stating: "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal assistance..." (20 U.S.C. §§ 1681 et seq.) The university follows requirements under the regulations enacted in 2020 related to receipt, remedy and resolution of complaints related to sexual harassment occurring within its programs and activities.
