Henry A. ✏, he/him

Henry is a first-year PhD student in Literary and Cultural Studies. His research focuses on the roles of violence and animality played in constructions of masculinity in early modern drama. He received his MA in Literary and Cultural Studies from Carnegie Mellon, and his BFA in Theatre with a minor in Global and Postcolonial Studies from Emerson College. In his free time, he loves working with animals, cooking, and playing guitar!

Laura D. ✏, she/her

Laura is pursuing a PhD in Literary and Cultural Studies. Before beginning her doctoral studies, she earned a BA and MA in English literature from Binghamton University. Her research interests include early modern drama and history, gender and sexuality studies, classical reception, book history, and digital humanities. As an Area Supervisor and Consultant at Communication and Language Support, she enjoys working with students in all disciplines, specializing in application materials and thesis-driven essays.

Laurel is currently a junior studying Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Creative Writing. She is a part of Greek Life on campus, Pre-Law Society, Women in Law, and is a lifeguard at the pool. She is interested in learning foreign languages and has just recently completed a summer abroad program at Yonsei University in South Korea. In her free time she enjoys swimming, running, and reading.

Maximillian is currently a sophomore studying chemical engineering. They are interested in trans and queer studies, specifically in describing how speculative fiction can inform personal identities and vice versa. In their free time, they enjoy visual art and listening to music.

Rose is a PhD student in Literary and Cultural Studies. Her research is centered around decoloniality and representations of diasporic communities in 20th and 21st century literature and media. She received her BA in English Language and Literature at Korea University and has prior work experience at Masterprep where she taught SSAT vocabulary, essay writing, and literature-based courses. She enjoys working with multilingual clients, hosting conversation groups, and developing essays from all disciplines. In her free time, she enjoys watching films and cooking!

Sofia J. ✏, she/her

Sofia is a junior with a primary major in Literature & Culture, an additional major in Professional Writing, and a minor in Creative Writing. She has a deep appreciation for all styles and genres of writing, but she particularly enjoywriting rhetorical/critical analyses. After graduation, she hopes to go into publishing (specifically doing editorial work), copywriting, or copy editing. She enjoys singing with friends in an on-campus a cappella group, crocheting, and participating in on-campus publications such as The Tartan and The Oakland Review.
