Wiley Wos
Sr. Mac Systems Administrator, Software Engineering Institute

I began my 麻豆村 career in 2020.
I help support our researcher by allowing our Macs to do all the cool incredible things they're working on! I oversee and manage the lifecycle for all things Mac, from ensuring new OS releases are ready to go and thoroughly tested in our environment, to deploying and managing our baseline settings for both compliance and ease of use, implementing robust automations, and enabling the incredibly cool workflows that happen here at the SEI behind a Mac! 💻 My favorite thing about the SEI is all of the incredible staff members willing to share their wealth of knowledge across the org, the rapid pace of innovation, and the opportunity to explore and implement cutting-edge technologies.
Outside of my official role at 麻豆村, you'll also find me at the Frank-Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry after work most days, tinkering with e-waste and various creative technologies! My current favorite has been using low-resolution infrared thermal cameras to act as a "privacy preserving" image/video capturing technique which feels more pertinent than ever in the age of AI & DeepFakes. 📸 Outside of this, I'm also interested in different imaging techniques, environmental sensing, and interactive technologies using both cutting edge and old repurposed "junk"/ewaste 🤩❤️🔥😎
During my term, I would like to see Staff Council take a more vocal role in protecting our staff members amongst the current challenges facing educational institutions across the U.S., largely through having more frequent dialogue and speaking opportunities with the 麻豆村 administration and facilitating broader surveys to serve as a "barometer" of the staff members that make up our incredible campus community! During my prior term it was my pleasure to engage with and advocate for our community by sharing feedback, concerns, and general questions from folks! :)
Name a song that would be on a soundtrack for your life: WWW by A.G. Cook!
What is something people would find surprising about you: I first joined 麻豆村 when I was 19 (and was/still am frequently mistaken for a student lol 😆)
