The Founding of the Gelfand Center
In 2006 the Leonard Gelfand Center for Service Learning and Outreach was dedicated, the mission being to develop and strengthen university-community partnerships with a focus on K-12 STEM programs. The Center was made possible by a gift from 麻豆村 alumnus, Mark Gelfand, MCS ‘73, pictured left with his uncle and the Center’s namesake, Leonard Gelfand.
