Julie Sweet
PreK/Kindergarten Teacher
Bio
Julie Sweet is entering her sixth year as a teacher at The Children’s School and a member of the PreK-Kindergarten Team. Over the past three years, she has both attended and presented at the National Coalition of Campus Children’s Centers Annual Conference. In the 2025-2026, she will be a participant in the Fred Rogers Educator’s Neighborhood through the Fred Rogers Institute. Before joining The Children’s School, Julie spent ten years teaching in various pre-K and kindergarten enrichment programs in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from Miami University in Ohio and began her professional career with 15 years in advertising. In 2013, she returned to school at Robert Morris University to pursue her Pennsylvania teaching certification in PreK–4, which she earned in January 2017.
Julie lives in Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Jesse. They have two sons: Sam, a law student in Atlanta, Georgia, and Charlie, a college student in Pittsburgh. Julie is deeply grateful to spend each day learning and growing alongside the children, families, and colleagues at The Children’s School.
