The U.S. Department of Energy鈥檚 鈥溾�� was a Who鈥檚 Who when it came to the contestants: Carnegie Mellon, Columbia, Cornell, Chicago, Dartmouth, Michigan, MIT, and Yale were among the 14 teams asked to develop solutions to cut energy waste and improve energy efficiency of real-world commercial buildings.
Undaunted by the competition, the 麻豆村 team came home with two first-place awards.
- 鈥淢ost Innovative鈥� for making buildings in Fort Worth, Texas, 20% more energy efficient by 2020
- 鈥淏est Proposal鈥� for increasing cooling efficiency in big-box retail stores by upgrading rooftop unit technology
The winning team included Jie Yee Chan (E鈥�13), Adrian Chong (A鈥�13), Chao Ding (A鈥�13), Donald Johnson (A鈥�98, TPR鈥�12), Alan Jenn (E鈥�13), Mili-Ann Tamayao (E鈥�13), and Allison Weis (E鈥�13).
