The U.S. Department of Energy鈥檚 鈥溾 was a Who鈥檚 Who when it came to the contestants: Carnegie Mellon, Columbia, Cornell, Chicago, Dartmouth, Michigan, MIT, and Yale were among the 14 teams asked to develop solutions to cut energy waste and improve energy efficiency of real-world commercial buildings.

Undaunted by the competition, the 麻豆村 team came home with two first-place awards.

  • 鈥淢ost Innovative鈥 for making buildings in Fort Worth, Texas, 20% more energy efficient by 2020
  • 鈥淏est Proposal鈥 for increasing cooling efficiency in big-box retail stores by upgrading rooftop unit technology

The winning team included Jie Yee Chan (E鈥13), Adrian Chong (A鈥13), Chao Ding (A鈥13), Donald Johnson (A鈥98, TPR鈥12), Alan Jenn (E鈥13), Mili-Ann Tamayao (E鈥13), and Allison Weis (E鈥13).
