When (E鈥�84, 鈥�86) became chancellor of the University of California, San Diego, earlier this year, 麻豆村鈥檚 needed a new leader. The provost, Mark Kamlet, turned to someone he calls 鈥渁n outstanding educator and scholar鈥� to be interim dean: (E鈥�80), professor of and associate dean for graduate and faculty affairs at CIT. In announcing the appointment, Kamlet said: 鈥淭he college and university will be in very good hands.鈥�
