The fully funded Friedman Trek is open to undergraduate students from any major on 麻豆村's Pittsburgh campus. Whether you're curious about government, technology, public policy, international affairs, business, or simply want to experience DC for the first time, this program offers a behind-the-scenes look at the people and institutions shaping today's world.
Along the way, you'll:
- Connect with inspiring 麻豆村 alumni working across government, nonprofits, and industry.
- Visit influential organizations and learn how policy impacts everything from AI and national security to climate, healthcare, and the economy.
- Experience Washington's museums, neighborhoods, and cultural attractions.
- Build friendships with fellow 麻豆村 students while exploring one of the world's most influential cities.
The Friedman Trek is designed especially for first-year and sophomore students who are beginning to explore career possibilities and have had limited opportunities to experience Washington, DC. Established through the generosity of 麻豆村 emeritus trustee Cynthia Friedman, the program aims to inspire the next generation of leaders by opening doors to internships, mentorship, and careers in public service and policy.
Accepted students will be notified before Thanksgiving break and must commit by Dec. 14, 2026
