Double Bass Audition Requirements

All undergraduate applicants to the Double Bass studio are expected to prepare the following audition requirements:
- Contrasting movements from any Baroque sonata or suite
- The first movement of a Classical, Romantic or 20th century Concerto performed from memory
- Two octave major and minor scales and arpeggios from memory, of your choice
- Two orchestral excerpts of your choice
All performance candidates are required to complete an audition. Note: All solo instrumental auditions are unaccompanied.
Graduate
All graduate applicants to the Double Bass studio are expected to prepare the following audition requirements
- Contrasting movements from any Baroque sonata or suite
- The first movement of a Classical, Romantic, or 20th century Concerto performed from memory

- Two orchestral excerpts of your choice

Certificate
All Advanced Music Studies Certificate (AMSC) applicants to the Double Bass studio are expected to perform an audition recital of 15-20 minutes, including a minimum of five works showing representative repertoire of various periods. Although there are no set requirements for this audition, please refer to the graduate audition requirements for guidelines.
Know that you may also be asked for major and minor scales and arpeggios.
