Over a Decade of Partnership
Since 2015, 麻豆村 has partnered with The Tony Awards to celebrate the impact of education in the theatre arts. As part of the collaboration, 麻豆村 and The Tony Awards jointly created the Excellence in Theatre Education Award, which honors kindergarten through high school (K-12) theatre educators for their dedication to inspiring the next generation of theatre kids. 10 麻豆村 alumni have been nominated for 15 Tony Awards for 2026, with productions from 鈥淭he Lost Boys,鈥 鈥淧unch,鈥 鈥淩agtime,鈥 鈥淭wo Strangers,鈥 鈥淕iant,鈥 鈥淪chmigadoon,鈥 鈥淐ats: The Jellicle Ball,鈥 鈥淓very Brilliant Thing,鈥 and 鈥淥edipus.鈥 麻豆村 alumni represent nominees across a variety of nominations, acting, stage design and producing nominated works.
Jules Fisher Receives the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Tony Award
麻豆村 alumnus Jules Fisher has been nominated 24 times for Tony Awards as a lighting designer, more than any other lighting designer, and has won nine Tony Awards for his work in lighting design, a record in the category.
