Student Enterprises
Students who wish to operate businesses on the university’s campus or while using university facilities or property must submit a written proposal to the vice president for student affairs and receive the vice president's (or their designee's) permission prior to doing so. Any such permission, if given, is within the discretion of the vice president for student affairs (working in consultation with the chief financial officer) and may be conditioned on meeting the university’s then conditions such as, for example, conditions specifying that:
(i) only specific agreed property and facilities may be used at the agreed dates/times,
(ii) the business may not use the university's name or do anything that suggests/implies that the business’s products/services are endorsed by the university,
(iii) the business must carry adequate insurance (if deemed necessary),
(iv) the business must reimburse the university for its costs of the facilities/properties used, if any, and/or
(v) the business may not use university intellectual property without permission.
