Teachers Get a Taste of AI-Powered Robotics at Catalyst’s Industry 4.0 Academy

August 13, 2025 – New Kensington, PA — Each year, Catalyst Connection hosts the Industry 4.0 Teacher Academy, giving educators from across the region a chance to explore modern manufacturing and the technologies shaping its future. Teachers tour local companies, hear from panels of industry leaders about current innovations and future trends, and take part in hands-on workshops.
This year, our team introduced ShieldBots equipped with HuskyLens cameras to showcase the new AI portion of our Software Foundations course. Teachers had the chance to “train” the robots to recognize and follow colors or objects, offering a simple but powerful example of how machine vision can be used in real-world applications.
We were thrilled to see their excitement and hope all participants walked away inspired with new ideas to bring back to their classrooms!
