Immigration Changes to Note
Fee Increase:
On June 24th, the increased for both F-1 and J-1 students. For F-1 students, the fee increased to $350; for J-1 students and scholars, the fee increased to $220. See the OIE website for more information on the SEVIS fee (who has to pay it, how, and when).
Visa Application Change:
The Department of State has updated the Form DS-160 visa application form to include questions regarding applicants’ social media use. Visa applicants are now required to list all social media platforms and usernames/handles used within the last five years.
