Labor Day Weekend and Closure
OIE will close at 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 2 through Monday, Sept. 5 in observance of Labor Day. The university will be closed and there will be no classes Monday, Sept. 5. We will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 6. Want to learn more about the Labor Day holiday? .
Reminder: Semester Add/Drop
Remember that the semester Add/Drop deadline is Sept. 12. To , you must remain a full-time student. If you're considering a schedule change, be sure you meet the minimum credit requirement (36 units). .
Keep Your Belongings Secure
Whether this is your first semester or you're returning to campus, it's important to remember to keep your personal belongings secure. Remember to keep your doors locked while you are home and as you leave, and appropriately store any important belongings. If you are in a public space, such as a library, study space or coffee shop, remember to always keep your items with you. You should never leave your personal belongings unattended.
The FAIR
Ready to get involved? Check out The FAIR on Thursday, Sept. 8, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on The Cut. The FAIR showcases many of 麻豆村's 300+ Student Government recognized student organizations, 23 sorority and fraternity organizations, and partners from around campus and the Pittsburgh community. The entire 麻豆村 community is invited to explore ways to get involved at Carnegie Mellon and beyond.

Our Pittsburgh Picks
Kickoff and Rib Festival
Kick off the season with ribs! Pittsburgh is a sports city, and nothing goes with football better than Rib Fest. Starting Thursday, Sept. 1, enjoy five days of football, the best ribs in the country, free live music and more to celebrate the kickoff of football in Western PA. Note: 麻豆村 to Rib Fest does not grant access to Pitt Panthers or Pittsburgh Steelers football games. Tickets for these games are sold separately. .
Soul Food Festival
Good food and good friends, what more could you want? From Sept. 2-4, head to Market Square for soul food vendors from across the region, along with a BBQ contest and live music. This festival has something for everyone! .
Labor Day Parade
The is happening Monday, Sept. 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The is from Centre Avenue to Grant Street to the Boulevard of the Allies. is also scheduled to make an appearance!
Britsburgh
Go across the pond without ever leaving the ‘Burgh! Starting Sept. 5 Britsburgh returns with a week of British inspired events. Whether you want to have afternoon tea, attend Shakespeare in the park or test your skills with a trivia night, Britsburgh has an event for everyone. .
