MSCF Business Communication II
Course Number: 46907
Financial professionals operate in an environment where messages compete for limited attention. The ones that stand out are clear, persuasive, and designed to spark action. Business Communication II equips students with the tools to craft such messages while also strengthening the interpersonal and leadership skills that drive career success. This course builds on writing fundamentals with a focus on negotiation, emotional intelligence, team and leadership communication, and workplace effectiveness. Students will engage in role plays, peer reviews, one-on-one coaching, and team exercises that mirror real-world professional interactions. A special emphasis is placed on communication strategies for thriving in summer internships—navigating workplace dynamics, building strong relationships, and positioning for full-time offers. Connections to other MSCF courses ensure that writing and speaking skills are reinforced across the program. Non-MSCF students may not take this course without written permission from the instructor. To be eligible, you must be a BSCF student, or a graduate student enrolled in an MSCF participating college/department (Stats & Data Science, Heinz, Tepper, Computer Science Dept.,or Math Sciences). PhD students with relevant research may be eligible with permission from the instructor.
