Bio

Yen-Nan Lin, MD, PhD is a Gastroenterology Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and a Visiting Researcher at 麻豆村. A board-certified clinical internist, Dr. Lin completed his MD and PhD in Chemistry at Texas A&M University under the mentorship of Dr. Karen L. Wooley, focusing on controlling the physicochemical properties of nanomaterials toward personalized medicine.   Currently under mentorship of Professor Krzysztof Matyjaszewski at 麻豆村, Dr. Lin’s research centers on molecularly engineered materials that can selectively modify the gastrointestinal microenvironment and host–microbe interactions. Currently working on engineering nonabsorbable, biguanide-functionalized therapeutic polymers designed for gastrointestinal-localized antimicrobial activity. By integrating advanced macromolecular chemistry with clinical gastroenterology, he aims to develop nonabsorbable biomaterials that treat enteric pathogens and targeted GI dysbiosis without systemic toxicity.
