New Associate Vice President for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Chief Risk Officer
After a national search, 麻豆村 selected Miguel Delgado as its next Associate Vice President for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Chief Risk Officer (CRO). Miguel joined us effective March 31 from the University of Arizona.
Miguel has spent the last seven years in leadership positions in the University of Arizona’s Risk Management Services Department, including more than three years as CRO. In that role, he led the university’s risk management programs — including health and safety, regulatory compliance and insurance — and worked across the institution to help identify, develop and implement risk mitigation strategies. Prior to Arizona, Miguel held several safety- and risk-related roles at the University of New Mexico and Farmers Insurance, where he helped minimize institutional liabilities.
Miguel's leadership extends beyond his professional experience. In 2021, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the University Risk Management & Insurance Association (URMIA), a national organization dedicated to advancing risk management in higher education. In 2024, his peers selected him as president-elect, a role he currently holds. URMIA serves over 875 institutional members by providing community, education and resources to support the profession.
Miguel received his MBA in organizational management from Eastern University and his bachelor’s degree in theology from Hyles-Anderson College. He holds several professional designations, including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Certified Risk Manager, Associate in Risk Management, Associate in Risk Management for Public Entities and Associate in General Insurance.
Please join us in welcoming Miguel to the university.
