Bio

Gabi Kirilloff works at the intersection of cultural analytics, feminist theory, and nineteenth-century American literature. Her research often combines computation and close reading to examine the relationship between gender and agency in fiction. Kirilloff teaches classes on Women’s Writing, digital methods, computational analysis, and video-games. She has worked on a number of large scale digital projects, including The William Blake Archive, The Walt Whitman Archive, and The Willa Cather Archive. Her work has appeared in journals including College Literature, Digital Scholarship in the Humanities, and the Journal of Cultural Analytics. She, along with Dr. Claudia Carroll, is the co-founder of the AI Humanities Lab. Gabi also enjoys writing for public audiences, including pieces on video games and contemporary culture for Forbes and a book in progress on the emotional stakes of playing video games.
