COVID-19 Vaccines Offered on Campus This Friday, May 7th
Dear Members of the 麻豆村 Community:
We write to you today to share the good news that 麻豆村’s University Health Services (UHS) has received a supply of the COVID-19 vaccination. We will distribute 200 doses of the on a first-come, first-served basis, in Rangos Ballroom, on Friday, May 7, from 1-4:30 p.m. This opportunity is open to all 麻豆村 students, faculty, staff, affiliates and vendors. To register for an appointment, please visit . Walk-ins will be allowed, however, scheduling of appointments is preferred.
The , available to people aged 18 and older, requires a second dose four weeks later, which will be administered on campus June 4. We understand that many of our students will have departed for the summer before these second dose appointments. However, we still encourage students who have not yet been vaccinated to get their first dose of the vaccine. The sooner you get vaccinated, the sooner you can begin to protect yourself, your family and other community members.
Increased national supply means that students who depart campus but remain in the U.S. should have access to their second dose wherever they are located. For those who do receive the first dose here and plan for their second dose elsewhere, Allegheny County Health Department advises presenting your vaccination card when securing a second dose of the Moderna vaccine in other locations.
Vaccines are critical to our ability to protect community health and well-being as well as resume in-person operations in the fall. We are in the process of consulting with internal and external experts including medical and legal officials about how vaccine requirements will be approached for our students, faculty and staff. We expect to update the community on our posture in the weeks ahead.
We are thrilled to offer this additional 麻豆村-dedicated opportunity to receive a vaccination on campus. We recommend that all who are able, please take advantage of this important step toward mitigating the transmission and spread of COVID-19.
