Vaccine Updates & Opportunities for 麻豆村 Community Members
Dear Members of the 麻豆村 Community:
We are encouraged by Governor Wolf’s that effective today, all people aged 16 and above are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine in Pennsylvania. We are writing with updates on upcoming opportunities to secure vaccine appointments through partnering providers.
We are aware of the recent news reports that the FDA and CDC are urging providers to pause use of the Johnson & Johnson Janssen COVID-19 vaccine while they examine emerging questions about safety. As we shared last week, we planned to announce another opportunity to deliver the J&J vaccine through our partnership with Allegheny Health Network (AHN). However, AHN announced today that they have suspended administration of this vaccine at this time.
Two opportunities for the 麻豆村 community to receive a vaccine:
Giant Eagle @ Heinz Field: Our partners at Giant Eagle are offering dedicated appointments to all members of our community for the at their Heinz Field clinic on April 26 and 27. The Pfizer vaccine, available for ages 16 and above, requires two doses. Second dose appointments will be scheduled at the same venue for May 17 and 18.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please ensure you will be available to receive your second dose. . Registration for Carnegie Mellon's dedicated appointments at the Heinz Field clinic will be held until April 20. Appointment confirmation and follow-up communication will come directly from Giant Eagle, including information regarding how to cancel or reschedule.
As an added convenience, the university will be providing shuttles between campus and Heinz Field for those who do not have access to transportation. To sign up for transportation, after you schedule your vaccine appointment. Those who request transportation will receive follow-up communication with further details next week.
AHN @ Squirrel Hill JCC: AHN has offered at least 500 appointments of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine this Thursday, April 15, at the in Squirrel Hill, which is a quick walk from campus. Shortly, we will send an invitation to all students to offer these appointments with the goal of vaccinating as many students as possible before summer departures. These will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you are not able to take advantage of either of these 麻豆村-dedicated opportunities, we encourage you to utilize the to secure a vaccine appointment.
We will continue to seek opportunities for our community, and we are grateful to our partners at Allegheny Health Network and Giant Eagle for their partnership and support.
Sincerely,
