Bio

Lieutenant Colonel Glen Nettrour commissioned as a Signal Officer in 2004 after graduation from Basic Combat Training and Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia. His first assignment was as a Platoon Leader in the 125th Signal Battalion, “Voice of Lighting”, 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii. As a Company Commander, he served in the 552nd Signal Company, “Forward Edge”, 41st Signal Battalion, in Camp Red Cloud, Korea.

He has served as an S6 and/or G6 in maneuver forces across Schofield Barracks, Fort Benning, and Fort Bragg. He also has prior service in Alaska for the 4th Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, the 59th Signal Battalion, and U.S. Army Alaska. He also served as Executive Officer to the 5th Battalion, U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command, Seattle, Washington. In Seattle, he led a team deploying the cloud-based computer adaptive version of the Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB).

He has deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan, most recently as the Train, Advise, and Assist Command - East G6 in support of the Resolute Support Mission with the 2nd Security Force Assistance Brigade. He also has service in Japan as Assistant Chief of Staff, G6 for United States Army Japan and Lead Signal Advisor to the Japan Ground Staff Office. In Japan, he led strategic defense security cooperation with the Japanese Self-Defense Force in the areas of kinetic and non-kinetic interoperability. His most recent assignment was as the Commander for the 59th Signal Battalion, “Voice of the Arctic”, at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, where he led an Arctic Tough team in support of All Army Alaska, the 11th Airborne Division, “Arctic Angels”, & Alaskan Command, Missile Defense Agency and Space Development Agency.

A former Non-Commissioned Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Nettrour enlisted in the United States Navy in 1996. He served in a variety of U.S. Navy assignments from 1996-2004. He is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Kansas State University. His military education includes the Command and General Staff College, Signal Officer Basic and Career Course, Combat Advisor Training Course, Airborne, and Air Assault Schools. He is married to Itzu Roquecruz. Itzu is also a U.S. Navy veteran. They have a beautiful son named Beren.
