Harrison Apple is co-director and archivist of the Pittsburgh Queer History Project and Associate Director of 麻豆村’s Frank-Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry. An interdisciplinary researcher and educator, their work centers on community-engaged approaches to preserving and sharing queer history in Pittsburgh.
Apple earned a PhD in Gender and Women’s Studies from the University of Arizona, where they trained with leading scholars in the field. Their research focuses on documenting and activating the histories of Pittsburgh’s after-hours social clubs for gay and lesbian communities from the 1960s through the 1980s, with publications and digital archives available at .
